DESCRIPTION:The Festival of Fruit event is presented this year in Santa Clara County by the California Rare Fruit Growers. The three-day program includes a visit to Andy’s Orchard. The orchard covers over 45 acres with 60 varieties of stone fruits. Andy Mariani’s stone fruits are grown for flavor and handpicked at peak ripeness. \nAndy is generously offering a complimentary tour of the orchard\, in addition to a tasting of many different varieties. You may also pick and purchase your own fruit from the orchard while on the tour for a discounted rate\, or purchase fruit already picked by Andy’s crew at the farm stand. This is a free but ticketed event\, and pre-registration is required through the Festival of Fruit organizers. \nI will be there to share my new cookbook: For the Love of Apricots: Recipes and Memories of the Santa Clara Valley and look forward to seeing you at the tour!
