Saratoga Blossom Festival
April 29, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Come enjoy the historic Blossom Festival that celebrates Saratoga’s Orchard history and world famous fruit! This will be my sixth year at the Blossom Festival where I will share tastes of my favorite Apricot Bars, local apricot products, and sign the 5th Anniversary Edition of my cookbook/memoir: For the Love of Apricots: Recipes and Memories of the Santa Clara Valley. I hope you will join me at this charming event in the Saratoga Heritage Orchard as we appreciate the Valley of Heart’s Delight of the past and the orchards that remain today!
Reminiscent of the original Saratoga Blossom Festival that debuted in 1900, the Saratoga Historical Foundation is hosting the annual revival Blossom Festival on Saturday, April 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Heritage Orchard and Saratoga Civic Center, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue. The Blossom Festival is free fun for all with antique cars, live music, art, crafts, gourmet food trucks, children’s activities, a petting zoo, historical characters, local organizations, and more!
The Saratoga Heritage Orchard site was originally part of the Quito Rancho Mexican land grant in 1841, which included present-day Saratoga, Campbell, and Cupertino. In the 1880s, it was owned by the Marian family. The property was purchased by F.C .Cox in the 1920s, who farmed apricots and prunes for 30 years. In the 1950s, the land was owned and farmed by three generations of the Seagraves family until the City of Saratoga purchased the land and preserved it as a Heritage Orchard in the 1970s.
