I’m thrilled to return to Andy’s Orchard on July 7th for his highly anticipated Summer Fruit Tasting & Tours. Cherries and apricots should be plentiful this season and both will be showcased at this event. I had the pleasure of touring Andy’s orchards with him in late April and both the cherry and apricot crops were looking fantastic.

Before and after you taste the myriad varieties of cherries and apricots that Andy grows, I will be signing my cookbook/memoir, “For the Love of Apricots: Recipes and Memories of the Santa Clara County.” I’ll also be offering tastes of recipes, including the “Heart’s Delight Bars,” a cherished family recipe generously provided by Andy Mariani. I hope to see you there!

Andy extends his invitation to all stone fruit enthusiasts from across the Bay Area to join in tasting the multitude of stone fruit varieties he cultivates, taking a tour of the orchards, and even picking some ripe fruit guided by a trained docent. It’s a rare chance to explore a working fruit orchard right in the heart of Silicon Valley. Don’t miss out on this exciting, delicious, and educational experience!

This event is just one of five Andy is hosting this summer, providing a unique opportunity to taste many different fruit varieties not commonly found in grocery stores or farmer’s markets.

• June 16 – Featuring mostly cherries, with some other stone fruits.
• July 7 – Featuring Late cherries, and early apricots.
• July 13 – Featuring mostly apricots, but also other stone fruits.
• July 28 – Variety of stone fruits, including peaches and nectarines.
• August 10 – Variety of stone fruits, including peaches, plums and pluots.
